On December 18, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., a Christmas Souharda Koota was held at Church Campus at Mariagiri Shakthinagar. The program was jointly organized by the Catholic Sabha, ICYM, YCS, Inter-Religious Commission, Nejiguri Group, and Nejiguri Dhwani.
The function was presided over by Rev. Fr Gerald Dsouza, Parish Priest, Mother of God Church. The chief guests were Kamalakshya Pambada Gandakadu, Daivaradakaru, Former President, Pambada Samaja Sanga, Rev. Fr Chethan Lobo OFM Cap. Editor, Sevak, Director, Assisi Press & Studio, Bashir Madani Kulur, Principal, Fatima Women’s Shariat, Gandhinagar.
The gathering was welcomed by a dance performed by the youngsters. The prayer song was sung by Keerthan Mascarenhas. Arun Dsouza President Catholic Sabha welcomed the gathering. The inauguration of the program was done by lighting the candle by the invited guests on dias signifying hope, peace, joy, and love.
The chief guests and the president of the program highlighted the peace and harmony in the society. Three people were honored for their contribution rendered to society. Tony Pinto Secretary of Catholic Sabha proposed the vote of thanks.
The cultural program, which featured a skit, encouraged the audience to preserve the environment while also announcing Jesus’ birth. Dances and jokes were enacted. Carols and music were played by Band Clefmates. William Colaso and Asha Vas compered the formal program. Rakesh and Asha Monteiro navigated the cultural program. A large gathering enjoyed the evening.
