The Good Friday service commenced at 5:30 pm. The Bishop and the priests prostrated at the sanctum in reverence and humility.
The Gospel was sung by Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Fr Vincent Saldanha, and Gladson Pereira after which the Bishop reflected on the Word of God. He cited multiple instances from our daily lives where Jesus’s virtues of kindness, humility, and forgiveness could be put into practice.
This was followed by solemn prayers. The Holy Cross was exalted and venerated by the faithful gathered. Holy Communion was distributed to all the faithful present at the ceremony.
