Mother of God Church Education Fund and Rev. Dr Alwyn Serrao Memorial Scholarship Distribution Program took place on May 21, 2023, at 9:00 am in the Church mini hall. The organizing responsibility was undertaken by the Diakonia Commission group. Cynthia Pinto led the prayer, and Vincent Dsouza, the Convenor of Diakonia, extended a warm welcome to the attendees. Education scholarships, medical assistance, and charitable support were distributed during the event. Social service achievers Ishwar Malpe and Siddik Maheshwar were recognized for their contributions. Additionally, the Serrao family honored Rev Fr Gerald Dsouza, the Parish Priest, for his 38 years of priestly ordination. The program’s chief guest, Mohammad Arif Padubidri, the chief reporter of Vijaya Karnataka, delivered a speech. Rev Fr Gerald, during his presidential address, presented an honor to Cecilia Serrao, the mother of Rev Dr. Alwyn Serrao, for her generous donation of five lakh rupees towards the church education fund. The vote of thanks was delivered by Diakonia’s Secretary, Flemia Fernandes, and the program was compered by Asha Monteiro.
