ICYM and YCS jointly organized a flag hoisting ceremony at Shakthinagar Church grounds to commemorate India’s 77th Independence Day. Deran Crasta, president of YCS, extended a warm welcome to everyone. The national anthem was sung as the flag was hoisted and saluted by the gathering. Greshal Rodrigues explained the significance of the day. Members of ICYM, YCS, and Stree Sanghotton sang patriotic songs.
Rev. Fr. Gerald Dsouza delivered the presidential address. Parishioners, including Fr. Pramod Crasta, PPP Vice President Royden Mascarenhas, PPP Secretary Margaret Mary Pinto, Commission Convenor Ronald Tony Pinto, ICYM animator Asha Monteiro, YCS animators Maria Dcruz and Shelton Cutinha, ICYM President Anish Menezes, and YCS President Deran Crasta, were present.
ICYM Secretary Sherly Dsouza proposed the vote of thanks, and sweets were distributed to the parishioners.
