The inauguration of the Catechetical Year 2024-25 took place during the 7:30 a.m. mass on Sunday, June 2, 2024. The theme for this year is ‘ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಾ ಮುಕಾಂತ್ರ್ ಮಗ್ಣ್ಯಾ ಸ್ಪಿರಿತಾನ್ ಭರ್ಚ್ಯಾಕ್ ಆನಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯಾಂನಿ ನ್ಹೆಸ್ಚ್ಯಾಕ್’. Following the guidelines from Diocesan Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Centre, the inaugural rite was performed with 12 children representing the 12 apostles standing in front of the altar. One couple from among the parents guided the children in folding their hands and teaching them how to pray. Teachers presented catechism books, the parish priest offered Bibles, and sisters gave rosaries to the children. The children then knelt before the altar, and a prayer was recited.
After ‘I believe’ prayer, all catechists gathered around the altar and took a solemn pledge to faithfully proclaim the teachings of the Holy Bible and impart catechism with unwavering dedication.
