Christmas celebration was held at the Mother of God Ward, Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar, at the residence of Mr. John Irene Dsouza on December 30, 2024, at 6:45 p.m. The Ward Gurkar, Mrs. Irene Dsouza, welcomed the gathering. The prayer session was conducted by the Ward Representative Mrs. Ida Sequeira, along with the ward members.
A Nrithya Roopaka was performed by the children and ward members. Jokes were presented by Mr. Praveen Sequeira, Dolphy Dsouza and the team. Games were conducted by Mrs. Jeen Dsouza, while Mrs. Meena Fernandes and the ward members led the carol singing.
The chief guests, Mr. Sathyan and Mrs. Lavyna Kotian, addressed the gathering by giving the message of love, joy, fraternity and hope to strengthen the bond of community. Rev. Fr. Apolinaris Crasta also delivered a meaningful and inspiring message to the gathering.
Mrs. Ida Sequeira expressed her gratitude to all the ward members who contributed to the success of the event and to the invitees for gracing the occasion. Delicious food was blessed and served to all present. The program was anchored by Mrs. Juliana Lobo.
A total of 110 members catholic and non-catholic participated in this joyous occasion, with all ward members actively sharing their joy and unity. The purpose of this Sauharda was to foster unity, love, and peace among the community.
