Sunday the 23rd of February 2025, was a eventful day. A remarkable Day for the Married couples of the Mother Of God Church, Shakthinagar.
The program commenced with a prayer song by the members of Stree Sangaton. President Mary Pinto welcomed Parish Priest Rev Fr Apolinaris Crasta, Fr Alwyn Richard DSouza, Director, Family Welfare Commission, Fr Pramod Crasta, Resident Priest, PPP Vice President Stany Mascarenhas, Commission Coordinator Maria Dcruz, Mr Francis and Mrs Prescilla Sequiera from Kelarai Church, and City Varado Stree Sangaton president Mrs Ida Sequiera and the gathering.
The Parish Priest briefed the gathering about the importance of the program. Fr Alwyn Richard DSouza being the resource person, gave an insight to the formation of a family, the different hurdles and challenges and the need to persevere in the relationship. He dealt in detail few live cases of family disputes in their different ages and the remedies and amicable solutions in reuniting the strained ties. The need to understand, to communicate with each other, to build a passion of forgiveness and strengthen mutual relationship among the couples would mitigate any misunderstandings in early stages.
Mr Francis and Mrs Prescilla shared the experience of their 10 years married life. They shared their daily life, the various challenges and the ways to bettering their commitments in bringing up their three kids and leading a responsible and perfect family.
Variety entertainments like funny games, dance and a skit were highlights of the program. The response of the parishioners was so enormous that 98 people in total attended making it a grand celebration. Ida Sequeira compered the proceedings and Zeeta Lobo thanked everyone. Breakfast and lunch were served for all.
