A memorable day for the children as the Catechism Day was joyfully celebrated on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar. The day commenced with the solemn mass at 7.30 am. Rev. Fr Pramod Crasta was the main celebrant and Rev Fr Apolinaris Crasta and Rev Fr Lawrence Cutinha were concelebrants. Catechism students actively participated in the liturgy and the offertory procession, and the melodious Choir with dedication and enthusiasm.
Following the Mass at 9.30 a m, the community gathered in the Church Hall for a delightful celebration. Variety of performances related to the Holy Bible, in the form of Action Songs and Skits were performed by all students from kindergarten to class 10.
Fr Pramod Crasta conveyed the importance of attending the catechism classes, which form an integral part of Christian living. Parish Priest Fr Apolinaris Crasta congratulated and encouraged all students for attending the classes and wished that the Parish children should be a role model to others. Vice President of Parish Pastoral Parishod Stany Mascarenhas, Secretary Mary Pinto, Commission coordinator Maria Dcruz and Catechism Coordinator Jean Dsouza were present.
Prizes were awarded to all students in different categories. The teachers were also honoured for their dedicated and selfless service.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Jean Dsouza, conveying gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. Jenisha Dsouza of class10 compered the program.
The Catechism Day celebration was a meaningful and memorable occasion, fostering spiritual growth and community fellowship. The program concluded with the serving of snacks and soft drinks to all.
