Easter Celebration

The Easter celebration commenced on the evening of 19th April 2025 at 7. 00 PM with the lighting of the Paschal candle, symbolizing the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The ceremony unfolded with four significant parts.
The Paschal candle was lit with flames lit and carried in procession to the main alter. As it was carried down the aisle, parishioners lit their candles from the Paschal candle, spreading the light of Christ throughout.
The Exsultate, the Easter proclamation, was reverently sung by Rev Fr Apolinaris Crasta, filling the air with the joy of Christ’s resurrection, five readings from the Sacred Scriptures narrating the salvation in history of mankind, leading up to the glorious moment when the statue of the Risen Jesus was unveiled and Gloria resounded.
Following the Liturgy, the water was blessed and the faithful renewed their Baptismal vows, experiencing a deep and moving spiritual renewal. The blessed water was then sprinkled over the faithful, symbolizing purification and new life in Christ.
The main celebrant for the Eucharistic celebration was Rev Fr Walter Dsouza OCD with Rev Fr Apolinaris Crasta and Rev Fr Pramod Crasta concelebrated.
