The parishioners of Mother of God Church Shakthinagar gathered at 7.00 AM on 18th April 2025 for the Way of The Cross. Rev Fr Apolinaris Crasta commenced with the introductory prayers and 14 stations were recited by the parishioners.
Many parishioners attended, ruminating the Lord’s Passion with great devotion and also spent time in meditation and adoration at Altar of Repose.
Evening ceremony began at 5.00 PM. The entire ceremony consisted of four parts. The word of God, Prayers of the Church, The veneration of the Holy Cross and the Holy Eucharist.
The priests prostrated at the sanctum in reverence and humility. The ceremony celebrated by Rev Fr Melwin Dcunha OCD. The Gospel readings about the Passion of Christ was recited in vocal way by Rev Fr Apolinaris Crasta, PPP Vice president Stany Mascarenhas and Ashwil Colaco.
This was followed by solemn prayers. The Holy Cross was exalted and venerated by the faithful. The Ceremony ended with offering of Holy communion.
