On September 27, 2026, the St. Lawrence Ward celebrated Monthi Fest and ‘Novem Jevchem’ (the new harvest meal) with great devotion and joy at the residence of Mrs. Alice Pais.
The program commenced at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service led by the Ward Gurkar, Mrs. Saritha D’Souza, and the ward members, which was followed by the offering of flowers to Infant Mary.
The Ward Gurkar, ward representatives, and members collectively mixed the blessed new corn (‘Novem’) into the ‘Vorn’ (traditional sweet dish). Following this, all the ward members shared the ‘Novem’ together as a symbol of love, unity, and brotherhood.
During the event, Mrs. Zina D’Souza was felicitated for her dedicated service as a ward representative. Pearl Barreto entertained the gathering with a beautiful dance performance, and greetings were extended to the members celebrating their birthdays.
Mr. Arun D’Souza gracefully compered the event. The Ward Secretary, Mrs. Babitha D’Souza, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who cooperated to make the event a success. All the arrangements for the program were beautifully organized by Mrs. Precilla Pais.
All the ward members participated in this celebration with great joy and a strong spirit of unity.
