The catechism day was celebrated on Sunday, February 26th, 2023. The day commenced with the Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr Gerald Dsouza along with catechism teachers, children, parents, and parishioners. The liturgy was conducted by the children of the parish. The children’s choir added to the solemnity of the service.
The mass was followed by cultural celebrations. Jean Dsouza welcomed the gathering. A prayer song was sung. The children of all the classes gave captivating performances depicting the biblical episodes.
Deyon Dsouza, a student of class 10th shared his experience of catechism classes. Juliet Rodrigues was honored for her service, reviewed the catechism classes conducted during the year.
The program sequenced the felicitation for all the catechism teachers for their wholehearted service. The children were distributed prizes for securing 75% and above marks in the exams, quotations, and full attendance. Ashwin Colaso was honored for securing the highest marks in the High School section and Prince Dsilva was honored for securing the highest marks in the Primary section. Fr Gerald Dsouza in his presidential address expressed encouraging words and support to the children.
Prajwal Saldanha compered the formal program and Krislyn Maria Fernandes led the culture program. Asha Colaso proposed the vote of thanks. The children were served refreshments and ice cream.
