The parishioners of Shakthinagar held a thanksgiving program in honor of Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Gerald Dsouza on May 12, 2024.
The 7:30 AM Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Gerald and concelebrated by Fr. Vincent and Fr. Pramod. Following the Mass, a felicitation ceremony took place in the community hall. The program began with a prayer dance performed by children. Parish Pastoral Parishad Vice President Stany Mascarenhas welcomed the gathering. The choir sang a thanksgiving song portraying Fr. Gerald’s six years of selfless service at Shakthinagar.
Arun Dsouza shared his experiences with Fr. Gerald and highlighted his interest in inter-religious dialogue. Greshal Rodrigues spoke about Fr. Gerald’s religious life, interactions with youth, office work, and personal life. Diveena Dsouza discussed Fr. Gerald’s interactions with children. Asha Monteiro read the citation, followed by an honoring ceremony conducted by the PPP Vice President, Secretary, Commission Convenor, former PPP Vice Presidents, former Secretaries, and Ward Gurkars. All the parishioners greeted the priest.
In his message, Fr. Gerald thanked everyone for the love and affection he had received from the parish and assured them of his prayers. Parish Pastoral Parishad Secretary Mary Pinto expressed gratitude to everyone. William Colaso navigated the program.
