Pilgrimage to Mahe, Puducherry
On 5th October 2025 , a group of 50 of us undertook a pilgrimage to the shrine of St. Teresa of Avila in Mahe, Puducherry. We departed from Mangaluru by train at 6:45 a.m. and arrived in Mahe at 10:00 a.m.
As it was the first day of the novena leading up to the annual feast, the shrine was filled with a large number of devotees eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the statue of St. Teresa of Avila. We joined the congregation in honouring the saint and offered our prayers in a spirit of reverence and devotion.
Following the prayer service, we participated in the Holy Eucharist, which was a spiritually enriching experience for all of us. After a hearty lunch, we visited a nearby beach, where we enjoyed the serene sea view and the refreshing sea breeze, providing a moment of relaxation and fellowship.
The pilgrimage was a meaningful blend of spiritual fulfilment and joyful fellowship. We returned to Mangaluru by the 6:00 p.m. train and reached home at 9:30 p.m., carrying with us the blessings and memories of a truly special day.
