Legion of Mary Celebrates 35th year Annual Feast October 5, 2025.
The Legion of Mary solemnly celebrated the 35th year Annual Feast on October 5, 2025, at Mother of God church, Shakthinagar. The day began with a Thanksgiving Mass at 7 a.m. attended by all members of the presidium.
The evening celebrations commenced at 5 p.m. with the recitation of the holy Rosary led by the presidium president, Cecelia Dsouza. Presidium member Carmine Pinto extended a warm welcome to the esteemed gathering. Irene Carlo, the secretary, presented the Annual report, highlighting the activities and accomplishments.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Praveen Joy Saldanha, Diocesan Legion Comitium Spiritual Director and the Treasurer Mrs. Cynthia Fernandes, their participation added spiritual depth and honor to the occasion. The program was presided over by Rev. Fr. Apolinaris Crasta, the spiritual director of the presidium and Parish Priest of Mother of God Church. Also present were Mrs. Mary Pinto, Secretary and the members of the Parish Pastoral Parishad.
The program included lively performances by the presidium members and a beautiful Catena Dance performed by the parish children. Spot games, a quiz and a dramatization of the Bible story ‘Ruth’ were also presented by the members, exhibiting their enthusiasm and talents.
A special moment of the evening was the felicitation of senior member Veronica Monteiro for her selfless and dedicated service to the presidium over the past several years.
Shanthi Pais proposed vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. The program was anchored by Victor Dcruz. All presidium legionaries, including parish members, actively participated in the celebration.
The joyful day concluded with a delicious dinner to all.
