On May 12, 2024, at 3:30 pm, a shramadhan event was held in preparation for welcoming the new parish priest at Mother of God Church. Around 90 parishioners joined in, engaging in the cleaning of the church, presbytery, and the surrounding vicinity.

On 30th March 2024 at 7:30 pm, the Easter celebration began. The ceremony commenced with the Blessing of the Paschal Candle, symbolizing the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Good Friday ceremony at Shakthinagar Church began at 5:00 pm. The entire ceremony consisted of four parts: The Word of God, Prayers of the Church, The veneration of the Holy Cross and The Holy Eucharist. The Annual Parish Retreat, was held from 25th March to 27th March, 2024. Rev. Fr Gabriel Lobo, who serves as a Formator to the levites at Nithyadar Nivas in Alangar was the preacher for the retreat.
