The feast of St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori Ward was joyfully celebrated on Sunday, 2nd August 2026. The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Holy Mass at 7:00 a.m. at Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar, celebrated by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Apolinaris Crasta.
The evening celebration was held at the residence of Mr. Joachim D’Souza, beginning with a prayer service and ceremonial lamp lighting. The programme was graced by Rev. Fr. Apolinaris Crasta, Rev. Fr. Ivan Cordeiro, and Parish Pastoral Council representatives.
Ward Gurkar Mrs. Irene Carlo welcomed the gathering, while Mrs. Precilla Pinto presented the annual ward report. Mrs. Tara Machado was felicitated for receiving the Florence Nightingale Award, Mrs. Theresa Louis for completing the Handwritten Bible, and Ms. Sonal Saldanha for excellence in education.
The evening featured cultural performances, fun-filled games, and an informative session on cardiac arrest awareness by Mrs. Tara Machado. The programme was compered by Mr. Prajwal Saldanha, and Mrs. Carmine Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.
The joyful celebration concluded with a fellowship dinner, strengthening the spirit of unity and togetherness among the ward members.
