On Sunday, August 9, 2026, the YCS members and the Commission for Environment Apostolate of Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar, gathered at the farm of Mr. Louis D’Souza to commemorate Environment Day by planting a fruit-bearing sapling as a symbol of their commitment to protecting and caring for the environment.
Mr. William Colaso, the mentor, shared inspirational thoughts on the importance of planting trees and highlighted our responsibility to safeguard the environment for future generations.
The programme began with a brief introduction by Shamith Rodrigues, who spoke about the significance of the activity. Jenisha Gonsalves anchored the programme, while Sangvia Machado proposed the vote of thanks.
A total of 25 members were present and actively participated in the programme. The celebration served as a meaningful reminder that every individual has a role to play in protecting nature and preserving our environment.
