St. Joseph Ward of Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar, celebrated its patron feast on 11th October 2026 with great devotion, joy, and fellowship.
All ward members gathered at Mother of God Church at 7:00 AM to participate in the Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration and seek the blessings of their patron saint, St. Joseph.
In the evening, at 6:30 PM, the ward members assembled at the residence of Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Sandra Corda for the feast celebration. Rev. Fr. Ivan Cordeiro, Mr. William Colaso, Mrs. Gracy D’Souza, and Mrs. Asha Monteiro graced the occasion as special guests.
The programme began with a prayer led by Mrs. Augustine D’Souza, followed by a warm welcome address by Mrs. Maria D’Cruz. Mr. Deran Crasta presented the annual ward activity report, highlighting the programmes and activities conducted throughout the year. The programme was beautifully compered by Ms. Rishal Noronha, while Mr. Sunil D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
As a mark of appreciation for their dedicated service to the parish, two ward members were honoured: Mr. Roydan Stany Mascarenhas for his service as Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Parishad during the term 2023–2025, and Mrs. Pauline D’Souza for her service as Secretary during the term 2020–2022.
The celebration continued with a variety of entertaining performances, including dances, a skit, and fun-filled games conducted by Mrs. Veena Mascarenhas and Mrs. Deepthi Castelino. The lively performances and engaging activities brought smiles to everyone’s faces and strengthened the bond of unity among the ward members.
The celebration concluded with a sumptuous dinner prepared by the ward members, which everyone enjoyed together in a spirit of love, unity, and fellowship.
The Ward Feast was a memorable occasion that strengthened the faith, togetherness, and community spirit of St. Joseph Ward. The celebration was a beautiful expression of gratitude to God for His blessings and for the dedicated service of the ward members.
