Maundy Thursday was prayerfully observed at Mother of God Church on 17th April 2025, with the solemn service beginning at 6:00 PM. Rev. Fr Apolinaris Crasta was the main celebrant for the evening’s liturgy.
In remembrance of Jesus Christ’s humble act of service, Rev. Fr Walter Dsouza OCD performed the ritual washing of the feet, symbolically cleansing the feet of twelve chosen parishioners. This meaningful gesture served as a reminder of Christ’s call to love and serve one another.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, a reverent procession of the Blessed Sacrament was held, leading to the Altar of Repose. Parishioners spent time in silent reflection and prayer during the Holy Hour. Fr Walter Dsouza led the congregation in a solemn session of adoration, guiding them in heartfelt worship and contemplation of the Lord’s Passion.
