Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated with Devotion and Fervor at Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar.
On September 8, 2025, at 7:30 a.m. the parishioners gathered in large numbers to celebrate the feast with deep devotion and reverence. The celebration began with Blessing of the newly harvested corn, followed by traditional way of offering of flowers to mother Mary, by young and old expressed their love and gratitude through this beautiful gesture. The newly harvested corn was taken inside the Church in a procession by the ward Gurkars, symbolizing thanksgiving for the harvest.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Pramod Crasta and Rev Fr Apolinaris Crasta concelebrated. The Spiritual Message by Fr Pramod Crasta, Conveyed a deep sense of grace to the celebration. The harmonious singing by the Church Choir added a rich layer of Joy and solemnity uplifting the hearts of all.
After the festal blessings, honoring of several outstanding achievers in education and sports was held.
The blessed corn was distributed among the parishioners as a sign of unity and shared blessing. In keeping with tradition and festive cheer, sugarcane was also distributed to all, while children were treated to the ice cream adding a joyful note to the celebration.
The day was a beautiful expression of faith, community and devotion to our Blessed Mother.
