The St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), Shakthinagar Unit, celebrated its Patrons Feast on September 27th with a solemn 7:00 a.m. Holy Mass, followed by a stage programme at the Mini Hall.
The prayer service was led by Mrs. Flavia Pinto and her team. The stage programme was graced by Rev. Fr. Ivan Cordoro as the Chief Guest. The Church Vice President, Mr. William Colaco, and Secretary, Mrs. Gracy D’Souza,
Representing the SVP Shakthinagar Unit were Mr. Dolphy D’Souza, President; Mrs. Flavy Pinto, Secretary; Mr. Roshan D’Souza, Vice President; and Mr. Hilary Rodriguez, Treasurer, were present on the dias.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Dolfy D’Souza, who also extended a floral welcome to the dignitaries. Mrs. Flavy Pinto presented the annual report, highlighting the activities and services carried out by the SVP unit during the year.
As part of the society’s charitable initiatives, gifts were distributed to an adopted family supported by the SVP. Rev. Fr. Ivan Cordoro also presented cheques to a few financially needy children, extending support towards their educational and other needs.
Addressing the gathering, Fr. Ivan Cordoro appreciated the efforts of the SVP members and encouraged everyone to continue their mission of service, compassion and care towards those in need.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Flavy Pinto. The event was compered by Mr. Praveen Sequeira. The celebration came to a warm close with refreshments served to all those present.
The Patrons Feast celebration was a meaningful occasion that reflected the spirit of faith, service, charity and community fellowship that continues to guide the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
