The Vailankani Ward Feast was celebrated with great joy, faith and enthusiasm on 25th October 2026. A Thanksgiving Holy Eucharist was offered at 7.00 a.m. Prior to the feast, a two-day novena was conducted at the residences of the aged and sick ward members, seeking God’s blessings upon the ward.
Later, the ward members gathered at the residence of Mr. William and Mrs. Asha Colaso to prepare for the evening’s feast dinner under the leadership of Mr. Thomas D’Souza.
The celebration commenced at 6.00 p.m. with a prayer led by Mrs. Pramila D’Souza, followed by a welcome address by the Gurkar, Mr. William Colaso. The ward secretary, Mrs. Gracy D’Souza, presented the annual report. Mrs. Asha Veera Vas conducted the birthday celebration of ward members born in October.
The evening was filled with vibrant cultural programmes presented by ward members of all age groups. Miss Veena Vas conducted spot games, while Mrs. Jenifer Pereira felicitated the achievers of the ward. Mrs. Treeza Sequeira announced the winners of the games conducted earlier in connection with the ward feast, and prizes were distributed.
Rev. Fr. Ivan Cordeiro appreciated the efforts of the ward members and delivered a meaningful message on the occasion. Mrs. Mishal Crasta proposed the vote of thanks. Members of the Parish Pastoral Parishad and the Parish B.E.C. Central Committee graced the occasion. Miss Deola D’Souza and Master Prinston D’Souza compered the programme.
The celebration concluded with a delicious dinner followed by a lively baila dance. The Vailankani Ward Feast was a memorable occasion that strengthened the bonds of faith, friendship, unity and solidarity among the ward members.
