Mother of God Church

Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha arrived at Shakthinagar Church on May 20, 2022, at 5:30 pm. Fr Gerald Dsouza, Fr Pramod Crasta, Parish Pastoral Parishad Vice President Vincent Carlo, and parishioners greeted him. A short prayer service was held. Fr Vincent was accompanied by Fr Edwin Pinto and Manjeshwar Parishioners.

Six children received the First Holy Communion on May 8, 2022. At 8:00 a.m., the mass began. In the liturgy, the children took an active part. After the 7:30 a.m. mass on May 15, 2022, a small farewell program was held to honor Fr Nilesh Crasta. Fr Gerald presented a citation, which Fr Pramod read. The way of the Cross began at 7:30 am on Good Friday. Fr Pramod initiated and it was led by the parishioners. The faithful gathered took part in recollecting the Lord’s Passion with great devotion.

The parishioners took part in the Eucharistic Celebration with great devotion on Palm Sunday on 10th April 2022. The service commenced on the church grounds by blessing the palms and distribution. The parishioners then proceeded to the church in a procession, holding palms and singing. The Holy Mass then followed.    

The annual retreat of the parish was held from March 21st to March 23rd, 2022. The retreat was conducted by Rev Fr Andrew Dsouza, Parish Priest, Holy Spirit Church, Bajal.
