The Nativity Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated on 8 September 2026 at Mother of God Church, Mariagiri, Shakthinagar. The celebration began at 7:30 AM with the blessing of the new corn and flower offerings at the Mother Mary Grotto, followed by the Holy Eucharist, with Rev. Fr. Ivan Cordeiro as the main celebrant.
During the celebration, parishioners who excelled in education, sports, and other fields were honoured for their achievements. The seven Ward Gurkars distributed the blessed new corn, while the Catholic Sabha distributed sugarcane and ice cream was given to the children.
On 7 September, the St. Vincent de Paul Society distributed vegetables and essential items to needy families.
The celebration concluded with a spirit of faith, joy, sharing, and fellowship among the parish community.
