To make the liturgy more meaningful, a half-day training program was held on August 11, 2024, at Mother of God Church, Mariagiri, Shakthinagar. The event was organized by the Liturgy Commission, with Rev. Fr Boniface Pinto, Spiritual Director, Propaedeutic Seminary – Karnataka Region, as the resource person. He was welcomed by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Apolinaris Crasta.
During his session, Fr Boniface explained the meaning, importance, and structure of the Eucharistic Celebration, the power of the Sacraments, and how to participate effectively in the Holy Eucharist. He also emphasized the significance of the proclamation of the Word of God, highlighting that lectors do more than just read scripture; they bring the living Word of God to the assembly. Effective proclamation requires clarity, conviction, and proper pacing, with preparation being spiritual, scriptural, and practical.
Many questions and doubts were addressed during the session. Stany Mascarenhas, Vice President of the Pastoral Parish Porishod, proposed the vote of thanks. The program was attended by 103 parishioners.
