Elders Day Celebration at Mother of God Church on 23rd November 2025.
St. Vincent de Paul Society, Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar organized Elders and Singles Day celebration for the parishioners on 23rd of November 2025. Many Elders and Singles from the parish attended and actively participated in the celebration. The program began with the thanksgiving mass at 10 AM.
Soon after, everyone gathered at the Church Sabha Bhavan and program commenced with invoking God’s grace led by Mrs. Flavy Pinto and other SVP members. Parish priest Rev.Fr. Apolinaris Crasta, PPP Vice president Mr. Stany Mascarenhas, Secretary Mrs. Mary Pinto, Commissions coordinator Mrs. Maria Dcruz, Sr. Prabhat and Vice President of the SVP Society Mr. Roshan Dsouza were present on the Dias. With lighting of the lamp by the guests and the elderly couple the program was inaugurated. Rev.Fr. Apolinaris Crasta in his presidential address briefed the gathering about all the challenges of the future and encouraged the audience to face them and lead a happy and contended life. The resource person Mrs. Maria Dcruz spoke about good health and tips to lead a healthy and happy life for elders and the need to follow certain daily and routine exercises. Children and members of the Stree Sangaton entertained everyone with their blissful dances. A skit full of jokes by the SVP members made the elders jovial and agile. Praveen Sequeira kept the audience engaged with the various games. Mr. Dolphy Dsouza compered the program. Mr. Roshan Dsouza proposed vote of thanks. Winners were honoured with the prizes by the Parish Priest. The Program ended with delicious lunch served for all.
